  Walked in last night, wanted a glass of Shiraz with a steak- only one available by the glass and it was $30.
  Ordered a rib eye, but had sold out so had a porterhouse which had gristle and looked great but was ordinary. This is my first time rating any restraunt but felt strong enough that I needed to share.

  I was happy with my dining experience but it was not flawless. The food was all good. I'm not sure why this restaurant doesn't have air conditioning. My partner and I walked in from the apartment we were staying at and I thought I had walked into an oven when entering. The waiter was too slow on keeping my wine glass full. As friendly and knowledgeable of the menu as he was, I can't forgive that.

  I was recommended The Black Cow as the best steak restaurant in Launceston. I have travelled the world, and this is probably the most overpriced, underrated restaurant I have ever been in.
  
  The restaurant was overpriced, and pretentious. You have to pay separately for sauce, greens etc. This is not 5 star dining, this is a make-believe, pretentcious, back water pub meal, sold for three times the price it should have been.
  
  Very dissapointed. I was looking for a relaxing night out with great food, and received pub-grade food for silver service prices.
